Juicing Day 3

Well, today I’ve been super tired, but unfortunately I caught Matt’s cold and can add sore throat, headache, earache and runny nose to that. So, it’s hard to tell how much tiredness to attribute to my sickness and how much to attribute to my juicing.

I still feel like I’m getting filled up throughout the day but want to bite into some FOOD. I feel like I’m a recovering alcoholic or smoker. I’m legitimately addicted to unhealthy food. Although the food I was eating isn’t good for my body and I’m getting better nutrients than I have before, my body is so used to and addicted to the unhealthy food, so there’s cravings galore.

From the documentaries I’ve watched, a good explanation for how unhealthy food works with your body is that often food companies put preservatives and ingredients in their food that keep you from getting nutritious value from what you’re eating and therefore make you crave more. So, instead of having a plant-based diet with healthy calories, fat and nutrients, most other foods contain unhealthy calories and fat with close to no real nutrients causing your body to tell you you need to eat more in order to get more nutrition even though you’ve already taken in a huge amount of fat and calories. This is why I feel full while at the same time still feeling like I want to eat more. Unfortunately, that’s what my body has become use to.

Some out of the ordinary behaviors from today, 1. soaked in a bath late last night and this afternoon, 2. yelled at my dog for not going potty fast enough (poor Indie) and 3. went to bed right when Matt got home. Once again, don’t really know how much agitation and tiredness to contribute to the juicing versus the cold.

Mood: Tired

Tip: Adding a fruit, especially lemon or apple, into each juice makes it taste better and sweeter than just using vegetables. Made that mistake today.

Breakfast: 1.2 cucumber, 2 carrots, cup of spinach, cup of parsley, 2 stocks of celery, 1/4 lime

Lunch: 1/2 cucumber, 1/4 lime, 2 handfuls of strawberries, 1 kiwi, 2 stocks of celery

Dinner: 3 Tomatoes, 1 1/2 carrots, small bit of onion, cup of parsley (warmed up as soup for my cold)

Only did 3 juices, even though I should be doing 4-6 a day, simply because I felt sick, tired and slept when I could today.
