Day 7 of Countdown to Oliver: Final Cleaning Day

Clutter

–H.G. Chissell

There is light at the end of the tunnel. This should be the last “nesting stage” topic in the countdown. The rest consists of fun classes, pampering, date night, etc. I did it this way in hopes that if Oliver decides to come early, I’d have all the important stuff out of the way, and if he doesn’t then I can get out and enjoy the last week of the countdown before that luxury becomes nonexistent for a while.

Since most of the nesting days included specific organization/cleaning items, today is really just about de-cluttering and tying (or cleaning) up loose ends. I’m going through the house cleaning anything that may have gotten overlooked or may not get attention any other time in the near future. So far, that consists of…

  • Deep-cleaning the oven (automatically of course)
  • Washing the couple loads of laundry left hanging around
  • Dusting/wiping
  • Cleaning out the refrigerator
  • Pulling built up weeds in our garden beds
  • Picking up the dog’s monthly vitamin from the vet
  • Possible bathroom wipe down

I had extra time last night to sort the toddler’s clothes and pack up everything she’s grown out of that’s just taking up extra space, or else I probably would’ve included that in today’s cleaning as well.

All fairly quick and effortless things to do but not necessarily things I normally do more than once or twice a month.
